Triathlon is sport that accommodates participants who are blind or partially sighted at all levels and ages.  The primary accommodation or adaptation for a para triathlon athlete to compete in a sanctioned event is having a tethered guide for the swimming and running portions of the event. The biking portion requires a tandem bike. For other specific rules and regulations including specific classification requirements, please look at the Triathlon Canada website or the International Triathlon Union website.

Triathlon does have specific high performance pathway leading to World and Paralympic Championships as well as recreational participation options.  Please contact BC Blind Sports at (604) 325-8638 for additional information about participating in Triathlon.
