Tandem Cycling

Individuals who are blind or partially sighted individuals can participate in Tandem Cycling at many levels including the Paralympics, World Regional events, and Para World Championships

Tandem cycling is a team sport or activity that everybody can enjoy, from the very young to old and everyone in between. Tandem cycling provides an opportunity for individuals to enjoy the benefits of exercise and travel together with their “pilot” or “captain” on the bike.

There are competitive levels available to those who want to pursue competition at the National and International levels up to and including the Summer Paralympics.

There are varieties of tandem bikes that allow recreational or competitive participation. Recumbent, trail or hybrid, and a selection of three and four wheel bikes suitable for those with additional needs are available as well. Please call the BC Blind Sports at (604) 325-8638 and we will be glad to answer any questions you might have.
