Individuals who are partially sighted or blind play the sport of Blind Ice Hockey across Canada, North America and now Europe. Teams and programs have developed world wide as the sport increases in popularity. BC has had a team for many years. The Eclipse play out of North Surrey Sports and Ice Center on a weekly basis throughout the winter. (See September 2021 update)
Blind Hockey uses some modified rules and equipment to make the sport accessible. The major difference affecting play is the use of the adapted puck that makes a distinctive noise and is larger than a traditional puck.
